Setting Up Your Yealink IP Phone at Home
These instructions apply to the Yealink T53W, T54W, T73W and T77W IP phones supplied by Teleproject UK.
Your phone will normally have been pre-configured by Teleproject UK before it is sent to you. This means there should be no need to enter any telephone system settings or account details.
You simply need to connect the phone to power and the internet.
When connecting the phone for the first time, please allow approximately 5-10 minutes for it to start up, connect to the internet and register with the telephone service.
If a message appears on the phone's screen that does not disapear after a few minutes, eneter the password: Admin123
Option 1 – Connecting Directly to Your Broadband Router
If your phone is located close enough to your broadband router, we recommend connecting it using the supplied Ethernet/network cable.
- Connect the supplied power adapter to the phone and plug it into a power socket.
- Connect one end of the supplied Ethernet/network cable to a spare LAN/network socket on your broadband router.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the socket on the back of the Yealink phone marked Internet.
Important: Your Yealink phone has two network sockets on the back, marked Internet and PC. The cable from your broadband router must be connected to the Internet socket.
The phone should then start up, connect to the internet and automatically register with the telephone service.
Please allow approximately 10–15 minutes when connecting the phone for the first time.
Option 2 – Connecting Using Wi-Fi
If your phone isn't close enough to your broadband router to use an Ethernet cable, the Yealink phone can be connected to your home or office Wi-Fi network.
- Connect the supplied power adapter and switch the phone on.
- Once the phone has started, press Menu.
- Select Basic and then Wi-Fi.
- Switch Wi-Fi to On if it isn't already enabled.
- Select Available Networks and allow the phone a few moments to search for nearby Wi-Fi networks.
- Select your home or office Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter your normal Wi-Fi password.
- Select Connect.
When entering your Wi-Fi password, please remember that passwords are case-sensitive. Upper and lower-case letters, numbers and special characters must therefore be entered exactly as they appear in your Wi-Fi password.
Once connected to Wi-Fi, the phone should automatically connect and register with the telephone service.
How Do I Know When the Phone Is Ready?
Once the phone has successfully connected and registered, it should display your normal extension/user information and be ready to make and receive calls.
You do not need to enter any telephone system usernames, passwords or server details.
Having Problems?
If the phone does not come into service after approximately 15 minutes, first check:
- The power cable is securely connected.
- If using an Ethernet cable, it is connected to the Internet socket on the phone rather than the PC socket.
- The other end of the Ethernet cable is securely connected to your broadband router.
- If using Wi-Fi, the correct Wi-Fi network and password have been entered.
- Your home or office internet connection is working normally.
If the phone still does not connect, please contact Teleproject UK Support and we will be happy to help.
